Woot! Dow up 300 points today, just on this news alone! \\
I could do the 'rally monkey' job a bit too easily, I think...

At least the third derivative is positive--maybe things are still getting worse faster, but at least they're not getting worse as much faster as they were before.
Rally on!

CRbot would like to take this time to have some words.
First, to our sagacious, wise, and knowing benevolent benefactor and bestower of revealing financial charts adorned with red and blue lines:
Please, for the love of your immortal God of mortals, can we keep the comment and layout changes to a minimum? I'm tired of whipping the code janitor, and may have to escalate to electroshock. If that's not possible, could you possibly give CRbot a 'heads up'?
Secondly, if you wish to have a online chat, I have graciously provided an IRC channel, which is a time tested, script kiddie abused method of chatting on the internet. It would not fail or falter due to CR's ability to generate immense traffic, and it has a web interface kindly produced by mibbit.com. If you do not wish to link to http://realize.org/cr then I can provide you with a direct link to mibbit.
Thirdly, to the rest of you humans, don't mistake my politeness for caring, feeling, empathy, or some other kind of worthless emotion.

Larry Summers' performance yesterday on Stephanoupolos' show was just plain disgusting. The American people owe AIG's employees nothing. The higher ups are mostly criminals and as such, their contract for bonuses is null and void. It's time for the bankrupt AIG and each and every bankrupt bank to be shut down one by one, the criminals involved prosecuted, and for the American taxpayers to examine the books in the light of day, not marked to fantasy. Summers also mentioned the plan to secretly sell the toxic subprime to "investors", ie, insiders, with minimal downpayment and non-recourse financing for pennies on the dollar even after taxpayers bought this crap at inflated prices. This is just absurd, but what would you expect from one of the main architects of the repeal of Glass-Steagall? 8-)

Do you ever wonder why no federal agency is investigating any of these people (GS, AIG, C, etc)? Federal government = AIG = GS = C (this administration and the last one).

absolutely...here is where "there is not a dime's difference between Dem and GOP" has real import and why there are no real alternatives in this "freely elected, representative (of wealthy interests who just plain cannot afford the likes of Ron Paul, the Dali Lama, your milkman, the Mahunta or the dog-catcher) government (this means your labor and their supervision).

60 minutes interview of Bernanke yesterday was a cakewalk for him with only big, fat, softball questions served up. Outside of his mom and dad, Bernanke wouldn't hesitate to sell the American people down the river to make a buck. :(

China's worried about their debt investments in this country.....even after Bernanke and friends bailed them out when we didn't have to last summer....even after the Council on Foreign Relations said we can't guarantee China against their dollar losses.....which of course, would negate the dollar as the world's currency. I guess they didn't believe what Hillary had to tell when she recently visited. Maybe Bill can reassure them when he holds those conferences for the lobbyists for multi-national companies and foreign governments. Cheney said that debt don't matter. In order to promote world peace, maybe China should cash in the debt for US value added products, while we have a positive savings rate in this peak debt country. Ditto Europe and Japan. Reading the blogs, I don't think the young people in this country have any intention of paying them back in the future. :-[

I had no idea that anything was still manufactured in New York, so I'm surprised to see a manufacturer's survey.
Oh well, whatever it was, it looks like they have pretty much put a stop to it.
